pedantic sexism

When a man critiques/criticizes a small detail of something a woman has said or done and mansplains at her about it, either "correcting" her or shaming her for being "incorrect" somehow. Importantly, the gendered nature of the interaction indicates he would not have made any comment, or would have been less rude about it, if the woman were, in fact, a man. Bonus points if there are examples of other errors, or more egregious ones, by men in the same situation at that moment (i.e. comments on a discussion forum or a group of people talking).

Anne says, "I have only the best vegetables in my basket!" Tom says, "So do I! Look at these ripe tomatoes we both have!" Roger points at Anne and says, "Anne, don't you realize tomatoes are fruits? There are tomatoes in your basket, so you can't say you have only vegetables in your basket, now can you?" Anne says, "Wow, Roger, what a great example of pedantic sexism! I love how you go after me about tomatoes, when I wasn't even the person to mention them!"

sexism

Discrimination based on gender. Both men and women can be victims of sexism.

1. A woman may be paid less than a man for doing the same job is an old example of sexism.

2. A man may be required to sign up fight for his country/be drafted while a woman is not.

3. A man who has sex with many women may be admired by other men, while a woman who has several sexual partners is labelled a 'slut' or a 'whore.'

4. No matter what their relative incomes, some women expect a man to pay for everything on a date, rather than paying for themselves, splitting the bill at dinner, etc.

Sexism

the discrimination of someone based on their gender. It can happen to women and men. Just look up Feminism or woman if you want to see some examples. I woulld say look up man to, but i looked and those ones arnt sexist.

I hate how the definitions for feminism are all wrong because feminism is about equality, the people who wrote those definitions are thinking about radical feminism.

Jack: Get back in the kitchen where you belong!

Jane: Arnt you gonna pay the bill? youre the man
