an ‘la piece of shit’ is a person from la who has fully immersed themselves in the citys culture and particular nuances of being from la itself. its used mainly for transplants who have the wealth and ability to afford gentrified living in la, but to an la native it’s appreciating the value of life in the city and being thankful to be here while we still can be. as an la native, claiming being an la pos to me is unapologetically loving the city we’re from despite the issues it has, especially those from poorer areas who can’t relish in the privileges of having money and being able to spend money on a 20 dollar smoothie or 10 dollar matcha and instead choose to accept and love life in the city as it is. (it can be as simple as life or going to gentrified areas and loving them the same as the areas we’re from)
