self harm

self harm is different for a lot of people, its the act of intentionally harming yourself . Cutting, picking, poking, burning , hitting , literally anything that causes you physical harm . People self harm for so many reasons, for some it may be to calm down what goes on in their head, for others it may be that theyre so numb they just want to feel something . For others they might want to die and this is just the alternative. There are honestly so many reasons, how I like to put it is the hurt on the outside calms the hurt on the inside. I dont know many cutters other than myself, the few i do know all say around the same thing. It helps calm them down and helps them feel something . But afterwards they feel ashamed, they can sit and cry and start to hate their body. Its like drugs or alcohol once you start you cant stop. Self harm is addictive and its not something that you do once and never do it again, you do it once and youre like “i wont do it anymore” then its everytime you get upset and then it just becomes a habit. Thats the hardest stage of it to stop, sometimes it goes to far. Girl in Pieces is a really good book that sort of demonstrates it and explains it really well. no harm no foul

I think this phrase actually began in basketball. If there isn't any harm inflicted to stop a game, then there should be no foul called.

It's used commonly today to brush off insults or mistakes and the like.
Gerchewd: Hey sorry - my butt just accidentally grazed your arm.
Doughlas:Hey man, no harm no foul.

Gerchewd: Yyyyyeah.

No Harm No Foul

If a phrase that originated on the basketball court. It is in reference to referees or players on the streetball court calling soft fouls.

In the eyes of some, soft fouls being called only slow the game and detract from the contest and beleive that unless the contact is significant there is no point in calling the foul. Hence, No harm, no foul.
Example A
Player A: 'you fouled me'
Player B: 'come on man, no harm no foul'

Example B
Referee blows whistle for soft hands foul
Player: 'come on man, no harm no foul'

No harm, no fowl.

“No Harm No Fowl” is the follow up to the detective series "In Harm's Way". This time, in what some cynics have called an “obvious network ploy to revamp interest in an ageing format”, we see Harm paired with a psychic chicken to solve crimes in a sleepy German town. Whilst the pilot notably featured TV’s John Nettles, this turned out to be the high-light of a somewhat lacklustre follow up to a novel first series. Rumours of a big-screen adaptation were dashed when it emerged that method actor Al (Alan) Pacino (set to play Harm) refused to work with the Adam Sandler (“the chicken") unless Sandler continuously ate chicken until he actually became a chicken. Alan was caught shouting “you are what you eat” at Sandler whilst repeatedly ‘clucking’ at the comic veteran. “It was a step too far” commented director Christopher Nolan. “I don’t even like chicken” said Sandler, and added “he was very close to my face, and his breath was not so pleasant - like onions, or some sort of dip, garlic mayo maybe”.
Did you see "No harm, no fowl.", this week, I think it's going to get cancelled.
