Get the Rio Grande do Sulmug. v. When you're Doing Gutter Things it usually implies you're out in the streets, causing a ruckus. Now, this could mean illegal activity--like selling drugs--or doing them. It could also mean something harmlessly idiotic, such as twerking in a parking lot. Totally un-called-for. Basically, it's "trashy" foolish, irresponsible, or frivolous behavior--that ought to be washed down the gutter--but it is instead--what you're up to with your best friend. Also, just for clarity, you cannot be Doing Gutter Things in places where there are in fact no gutters. You can't do gutter things while camping in the wilderness, for example. Doing Gutter Things takes place in the Urban World, or even worse, the Suburban World. Yeah, for sure, soccer moms can be out Doing Gutter Things. If you're particularly shameless about Doing Gutter Things you might get famous... or become a rap artist.
Local menaces DJ Boy Warrior and Mickie Southpaw both got permission from their bosses to leave work early to go vote in person, but then they decided to instead spend the rest of the day Doing Gutter Things
