Diamond of Doom is what most mechanics and vehicle technicians call a Renault. This is due to the Renault logo being a diamond, and usually they are broken causing doom and gloom for the owner. Can also be called the Diamond of Death as well!

It stems from a regular impact frame, which darkens the rest of a scene except for a hard impact, such as a punch or kick. The doom comes in when it lasts for multiple seconds, often with a loud sound accompanying it.
