Religion

The belief in gods or a God.

The cause of many wars throughout history.

The cause of many deaths throughout history.

Jesus wasn't a killer in disguise, he was just a guy who tried convincing people that it'd be a pretty sweet world if everybody was nice to each other.

.. Some people took it too far.

While I respect the Judeo-Christian ethic, as well as the Eastern philosophies and of course the teachings of Mohammad, I find that organized religion has corrupted those beliefs to justify countless atrocities throughout history. If I were to attend church, I'd be a hypocrite.

A lie. It causes death and hatred. It is told to children when they are little and they don't know any better so they are brainwashed into it. YOU DID NOT CHOOSE YOUR FAITH, IT WAS CHOSEN FOR YOU. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BELIEVE IT, HAVE YOUR OWN OPINION. Free your mind and believe in the actual scientific facts.

John was taught religion from when he was little. He didn't know any better and was forced to believe it, now he is crazy.

A way of making sense of the world. Often religions invole a higher power i.e. God. It is easier to leave your problems to a higher power rather than to solve them yourself. As life got more complicated for humans, we developed religion out of laziness. The existance of religion today can be attributed to ignorance, laziness, tradition, and the need for a sense of purpose.

The major religion in America is Christianity.

Something that crazy people (most of humanity) believe due to being brainwashed from birth.
Most continue to believe, even as adults due to primal fear and anxiety over their mortality.

Religion is fast fading in advanced nations, but still quite important in poor nations due to lack of education.
