Often the word one may use to avoid looking like a racist and saying "nigger." This word is also used between two homies in the hood. This word is totally acceptable in society.

Completely different from "nigger"

Used as more of a friendly term towards friends or anyone close, like a brother. Traditionally, blacks won't let whites say it unless they are close friends.

Traditionally not meant to be racist

Exanple 1

Guy1-"Yo wussup my nigga?"
Guy2- "nothin much."

Example 2.

White- "we've been friends for a while now and I was wondering...if I could call you myyy..."
Black-"nigga? Sure why not. We cool nigga"
