Fly Trap

A message board or web site set up with the intention of trolling unsuspecting registrants. The reverse of traditional trolling, where the message board is invaded by trolls looking to cause mischief. In the case of a Fly Trap, the targets come to it.

"Hey did you see that message board? What a bunch of idiots! How can people be that stupid? I argued with them for days, and got nowhere!"

"Dude, the place is a Fly Trap. You've been trolled."

monkey trap

1. A trap to capture various monkeys used around the world which consists of a staked container with a hole cut into it just wide enough for a monkey to stick it's empty hand into. The container is baited with something attractive to the monkey. Monkey reaches for bait and then will not release the bait and cannot pull it's hand out of the trap with bait in hand. It is then captured. 2. Any women's purse that is too small to contain everything the women wants to carry but is stuffed full nonetheless. When the women tries to pull something out of the purse she wrestles exhaustively yet will not pull the desired object out and she won't give up trying (empting the purse first makes too much sense). 3. Metaphor for greed.

Jenny's been trying to pull her cell phone out of her monkey trap for five minutes now. 3. Conversation Trap

Bumping into someone you want to avoid that ends up with them leading you into a lengthy conversation that you can't escape. It's a very subtle guilt trip. You awkwardly feel obligated to keep on listening to them, knowing well if you attempt to cut it short, you'll come off as some sort of inconsiderate asshole.

"I was just about to get on the elevator when I bumped into Gabby. I knew I've just stepped into a conversation trap. For 30 agonizing minutes she was bragging to me with her annoying voice about all her nieces' and nephews' accomplishments in grade school. GOD! I wish I had some Q-Tips so I can fucking punch them into my eardrums. At least I'd have an an excuse not to listen to her."
