The TF2 Effect

Any game that remotely is similar to TF2 (has it's name, similar in playstyle, parody) will eventually be dropped by the developers of it and will then focus on other projects because it is a "dead game". Although at times it clearly isn't and the developers just want to forget about it.

Person 1: "Hey want to play Team Fortress?"

Person 2: "It's dead."

Person 1: "Okay, what about Team Fortress 2?"
