Censorship or obstruction of an idea, work or method through means of micromanagement or excessive control, often unnecessary or without proper reason.

Exemplified by the dispute between Adidas and Apple in October of 2010, from which the term originates, in which Adidas canceled a $10 million contract to advertise through iAd because "Apple CEO Steve Jobs was being too much of a control freak."

I was unable to repair my car because the manufacturer appled the powertrain and I need to order parts directly from them.

Usually an idiot female (hence 'tart') who knows nothing about computers or technology.

An apple, being spherical and smooth, is one of the least sharp objects one could find. The phrase "sharp as an apple" therefore means that the subject is slow mentally. An idiot. It can also be used in a self-deprecating manner whenever someone comments on your failures, though typically it helps if you don't actually believe you are.

Guy 1: Hey man, what do you think would happen if I stuck my hand in this blender and turned it on?
Guy 2: You really are sharp as an apple, you know that?
