Text Jam

When you text multiple people who all end up texting back, making it hard to reply to messages as you keep getting interrupted by incoming texts.

I texted an invite to Josh, Lee, Brian, and a bunch of girls to this party, and when Josh asked me details I kept getting text jammed. It took me like twice as long to reply.

Text evasion

When someone who is too lazy to actually text or call you themselves, has another person text for them, usually with some pathetic excuse, like their phone has bad reception.

Your brother wants to break plans with your so he has his girlfriend text you , with a text evasion instead, "Kyle won't be able to make it today and wanted me to let you know, his phone isn't working very good."

Text Talker

An individual who is still in text mode when writing emails or letters. They write everything abbreviated as most people do in text messages but they continue to abbreviate everything even when not phone texting. This is out of habit but for some its just sheer laziness.

Dear Laurie,

How R U 2day? I hope all is well with U! I can't w8 4 spring break so I can come 2 Florida 2 visit U! Do U think the plane ticket will be Xpensive? Thanks 4 letting me stay in your beach house! I will write U l8ter....

P.S. Sorry I am a text talker...I'm just so use to texting on the phone so now when I write letters its just habit for me to abbreviate everything. LOL!

The term for refusing to text someone or reply to someone's texts.

Prohibit someone's texts; restraining from texting someone.

"Jon hasn't texted me all day. He won't reply to any I send."
"Oh, that's because he imposed a text embargo on you."
