Ostrich Joke

A joke that makes sense, but isn't funny enough so that normal people will laugh at it. The term comes from the Family Guy episode "Ocean's Three and a Half" where Two and a Half Men is being filmed in front of a live ostrich.

Man 1:"Have you ever seen Two and a Half men? It's hilarious."

Man 2:"What the hell is wrong with you, that show isn't funny at all. Every joke is an ostrich joke."

inside joke

An inside joke is a joke only understood and funny to only two or more people or a specific group. No one else other than that group will understand the joke and when they do, they will almost always not find it funny. They are usually jokes where "you had to be there" to even find it remotely funny.

A group of friends are walking around at the mall.
Girl 1: Trash can!!
(group bursts out in laughter except for one other girl)
Girl 2: why's that funny?
Group: Inside joke...
Girl 2: Okay then...

Tom's jokes

Tom's jokes are hilarious in the beginning but gets overused. It make's Tom's friends cringe but new people laugh.

Tom's jokes made that new cute girl laugh. I didn't laugh. I've heard him joke about his broken heart too many times oml.

that was the joke Ted

You say this when somebody blatantly states the meaning of a joke that everybody got.

It comes from the episode of Family Guy when Peter becomes friends with Lois's father.

Carter: "Ace high or low"
Peter: "It goes both ways."
*everybody laughs*
Ted Turner: "like a bisexual"
Peter: "That was the joke Ted."

joke mail

When somebody signs you up for free subscriptions or free merchandise of useless nature in order for you to be bothered by telemarketers and religious organizations. The instigator hopes that the person being "joked" will receive numerous garbage, telephone calls and whatever else the company sends such as videos and magazines.

I thought I had a parcel but it turned out to be joke mail that somebody signed me up for. Now they call me all the time.

Bad joke

Someone who goes for someone else's laughs and misses.

This guy/girl made one person he/she knew laugh with one out of every ten things he/she said, everyone else was angered by what he/she said. He/she is a bad joke.
