John: hey! What's up Mary? I.. didn't know you'll come this early.
Mary: Oh hah! I guess I just managed to finish up my job so I can check up on the kids, they're pretty annoying sometimes.
John: Oh hah— uh.. speaking of those... I think they're.. uh.... dead???
Mary: WHAT? MY KIDS!..
The rest is history

noun (also spelled mabah)
Is the unisex Western Australian take of the phrase "my bro". Use of this word is very common with todays' youth and some old school use it as well. Because of the thick Aussie accent, the r is often not pronounced, thus sounding like 'my ba' or 'mabah' however the context that this word is used in makes it acceptable to use it more commonly than "bro" due to the fact that it is used for both male and female.

a book, usually some type of hip or classic piece of literature, that you bought and read 14 pages of it and never finished, yet you left in casual display in your living area so people think you're well read.
-1"Yo have you seen the movie Fear and Loathing?"
-2"nah, but i read the book."
-1 "I heard the book is good. Did you like it."
2- " Well I never actually read it. it's on my bookshelf though.
