How Pat McManus's buddy Mr. Sweeney would likely have passed himself off as when mooching for a ride, claiming to be unable to repay a loan on time, not wanting to perform a yucky/arduous task, etc., when in reality he was perfectly capable of fulfilling his responsibilities, but was just too lazy and/or self-centered to actually apply himself.

Never mind his malingering sportsman-partner --- Pat HIMSELF was da truly "poor retched individual" when it came to being able to partake of significant physical activity, due to his being so unmotivated and out-of-shape... according to da "MFFFF", he would indeed violently wheeze and hackingly cough whenever he attempted anything much more strenuous than pressing da buttons on his TV-remote!

it reached locals

Locals most of the time it's just normal people who aren't stans and are lowkey boring. So when something "reaches locals" it's something usually the mainstream public wouldn't be that familiar with

e.g: the korean lesbian billionaire couple (Yves and chuu) became extremely popular outside of the orbit community with some thinking it was true , therefore it reached locals (although that was the point entirely I'm pretty sure)

locals are non-stans or in simpler words, normal people, and you would say this phrase when something that would originate in the stan community but ended up becoming so popular it reached normal people.

example 1: lesbian Korean billionaire couple aka. chuuves it was (and still is) an inside joke, although I do think the point was to reach locals

not so specific example: *artist*'s teaser photo goes viral and becomes a meme between their fans but it becomes so popular that, it reached locals
