Stand Partner

Someone you sit next to in an orchestral setting. These relationships often extend beyond a musical friendship and often can be confused with a more intimate relationship. It is not uncommon for stand partners to share a bed, participate in couples yoga, share food, and cuddle.

"How are you spending your easter vacation?"

"My stand partner is taking me back to her house to finally meet the family. We also might participate in couples yoga while there!"
