Also some say to get there faster and Avoid some stuff you can take at least 10-14 blocks of Obsidian and place it is a way were the center is a 3 tall x 2 long and if you lite the center with Flint and Steal (or any type of fire) You will get a portal and you can jump through and Your in the Netherlands!
