But in common usage (especially in India), it means:

Hip-hop that incorporates South East Asian and East Indian musical styles. Hip Hop music created by Desi performers who pay homage to their Eastern musical influences.

KR$NA, Divine, Raftaar, Seedhe Maut, Emiway Bantai, Bella, Rap Demon are examples of Desi hip hop artists. ikka, raga, muhfaad, mc stan are also some of the names in this group.

Kalamkaar is the biggest Desi Hip Hop (DHH) music label.

Desi Ghetto

An impoverished, neglected, or otherwise disadvantaged locality or residential area of a city, with a disproportionately large Indian immigrant population.

These areas are notorious for petty crime and street fights between confused Brown kids (see: Sauga Boy).

Often you'll see adult children still living at home with their parents in desi ghettos or two to three families living in one home - this is because desis are cheap as hell.
