Imagining something in vivid detail, mentally simulating the experience, like dreaming, but generally awake. Derived from "phantasia", which is another word for the capacity of mental visualization.

Usually in reference to visual experience, but can also apply to the visualization that goes on in the process of engineering design.

"Aphantasic?" "It means they can't phant. I mean, they can't imagine how it would feel to look at a thing until they actually look at it." "I don't think it's possible to know exactly what it would feel like until you actually experience it." "Well kind of, phanting has limits, nobody's perfect at it, but some people are pretty good at it."

"Yes, I'm sure the design will work. I've been phanting for days."

Plunting

Plunting (verb) - the act of shitting in a bucket of dried up mud and mixing it up with a hairbrush to create a mixture of mushy goop, said goop is then poured into the anal cavity of a living or dead person.

“Hey Gavin, you smell a little funny, have you been plunting?”

god punting

God punting is essentially a lazy technique religious people use to answer questions. Instead of giving you a solid & factual answer, they chalk it up to "God's doing" or "God's work." It's also used frequently by parents who can't be bothered to do a Google search or open a book, so they tell their curious children (who ask brilliant questions) that "God did it" or "God created that."

Little Bobby- "Dad, why do the stars twinkle?"

Dad- "Because God makes them twinkle. Now run along & let Dad watch his football game."

Little Bobby- "Dad, are you God punting me?"

Pup-punting

(pup-punt-ing)

Derived from puppy kicking.

When a writer makes their villain perform an unreasonable act that makes no logical sense with no characteristically justified reason, all for the purpose of showing just how evil they are.

Movie Critic 1: I thought the villain was well written, except for the first scene he was in when he just randomly killed his royal jester for dropping a ball while juggling.

Movie Critic 2: I agree, that was a prime example of pup-punting.
