When your friend says they'll show up in a minute, but end up taking 30 minutes instead. Normally done by people named Guido.

Me: Hey, how long until you're ready?
Guido: Just give me a minute
Me: Alright, I'll see you in one Guido Minute then

ten minute rule

An urban legend holds that, if a student arrives on time for class, and the teacher does not arrive within ten minutes of the official class start time, then the student is entitled to skip that class for that day without receiving an unexcused absence. Few, if any, schools actually have such a rule; yet the myth endures because of the student appeal of such a rule.

The rule is not necessarily alleged to be ten minutes. The "five minute rule" or the "fifteen minute rule" have also been used in this same sense.

What the fuck, it's 9:08 and Kotter's not here yet! Two more minutes and I'm invoking the ten minute rule.

Considered to be far longer than the normal time-span of 60 seconds that most countries agree to.

Fat minute

1. A long ass time. (Requires extra emphasis on the "fat") Typically used to refer to how long you've been waiting on someone, often for drugs. The fat minute delay is usually caused by a girl named Kat blowing a Xany with the money she just made off of you.

2. Also can be used in the abstract to refer to a long period of time as in several days or weeks.

Ex: 1

Fiend: Here's 50 bucks go get those dog bones.

Kat: Ok, I'll be right back.

Fiend: (After ~ 15 minutes) You were in there a for fat minute.

Kat: *sniff* Ya I know right, the bitch was all barrd out and just kept counting them over and over idk..you should like smoke with me or somethin for getting these for you. *sniff*

Fiend: Ya... I'll have to hit you up later.

Kat: Bet.

Fiend2: Dude we haven't gotten barred out in a fat minute, you should hit up Kat.

Krista minute

A length of time that is roughly equal to around 2 hours but can be more or less depending on location and time of day.

I said I'd be there in a minute but i really meant a Krista minute.
