Ginko

A tree native to China; resistant to radiation and fire due to surviving the Hiroshima attack. Also known as maidenhair trees.

It symbolises longevity as the tree can live for a thousand years and of a more profound endurance (four ginkgos survived the blast at Hiroshima and are still growing today). They also carry singular beauty and uniqueness due to their fan-shaped leaves.

Tsurugaoka Hachimangū, a shrine built in 2-1-31 Yukinoshita, Kamakura, Kanagawa, has a great stone stairway that leads up to a 1000-year-old ginkgo tree.

If someone is described as ginko it means they are: unique, beautiful or thick skinned.

It can also be used to describe someone who acts like they’re tough but in reality they’re very insecure or weak inside.

If something is described as being ginko it can mean: impossible, trash, too hard though hard can have different meanings depending on the context

“You ain’t ginko bih” - You’re weak/have weak resolve.
“Yo mans is ginko!” - The person is strong af

“Y’all see her? She’s ginko bro” - She is fine af OR she’s prestige (thinking higher/better of oneself than they actually are) can discern by the tone of voice
“This is actual ginko” - this is too hard
“That track is ginko!” - it’s hard af OR it’s wack resistant to fire
“Went ginko on dat bih” - Worked extra hard

The word can have many meaning it just depends on the context.

Ginos and Ginas are young Southern Europeans, mainly Italian and Greek, who wear expensive designer clothes. (clothes associated with ginos/ginas are Kappa, Diesel, Energie, DKNY, Guess, etc.) They generally drive fast, performance cars, and listen to European-style dance music (trance, techno, freestyle, euro, house, or more commonly called ginobeats)
and go MADD clubbing.. ;)
