Heaving been purposely given an ear worm by someone else with the sole intent of leaving a song stuck in your head. If you've been hook eared you've taken the ear worm bait!

Colleague keeps dropping lines from a song into conversation throughout the day.
At the end of the day you're whistling the tune, and realise you've been hook eared.
