shoulder surfing

A stolen term from surf lingo. (Everyone seems to try to inject surfing vernacular into there vocabulary, hoping to acquire what use to be surfing coolness. i.e. web surfing). Laughably surfing has become so commercialized that it is no longer a cool association. Real term is "shoulder hopping": to drop in on someone elses wave, not at the peak but at the shoulder (down the line). A Wuss thing to do since it is generally easier and rude to do this.

Dude1: "This dude shoulder hopped me so I speared his brand new Channel Islands board with my old Cordell and did some serious damage." Chuckling

Dude2: "Right-on bro. He's one of those Corona Del Mar kooks anyways."

Carpet Surfing

carpet surfing: when you crash at a friends house after a night of drinking and are forced to sleep on the bare (and often rough) carpet, with no blankets or pillows

joe: "hey soldier, you still coming up to my place this weekend?"

Car Surfing

Driving fast, weaving in and out of traffic on a 4 lane or better road, trying to get ahead of the other cars, so you can get to where your trying to go faster.

I hate getting caught in slow traffic, so I usually end up car surfing away to spread myself out from the rest of the pack.

Potato surfing

Potato surfing was originated on Prince Edward Island on Canada's east coast. During the potato harvest in the 1940's , most of the eligible men were away at war so the women were left to work the potato fields. On the weekends they would head to the beach for some fun and started taking the surf boards with them. Naturally potatoes were abundant so after surfing they would pleasure themselves with a potato and there the term was coined " potato surfing".

She was potato surfing for so long and so hard her fine china needed a real good scrubbing.
