Mines stems from the 17th century word mi-ne which in latin means ownership. Mines has been ridiculed as the improper grammar for “mine” but history has shown throughout all 19th century libraries it being used as the proper grammar for “mine”.

Tin mining day (stylized as TIN MINING DAY) is a holiday annually taking place on July 17th created by an indie game dev called The Unlucky Dev (or Kid Unlucky) online. Everybody collectively performs an action related to tin. It doesn't necessarily have to be mining tin, but you could use a tin can, make something out of tin foil, even just thinking about it is fine.
