Vacation Shift

When you have your last work shift before vacation. Usually this day is either extremely slow, extremely busy, or customers are extra rude. But when you finally clock out for the day it feels SO much better than clocking out of a normal shift, because you now have no more work shifts between then and your vacation, so you can fully relax now.

I had my vacation shift yesterday and it was a long and slow day, but now I get to look forward to being on a plane on vacay and I don't have to get through any more work shifts between now and then!!!!!!

Being in Greece is the best time for a vacation dart.

I don't normally smoke, but this is a vacation dart.

Workstation Vacation

This is what occurs when your overbearing, micro-managing boss is not in the office for the day and you finally have a chance to relax and enjoy your day and co-workers. Usually, little or no actual work is accomplished during this time, so you are on a kind of vacation even though you are at work.

Jim, why is everyone smiling and laughing over here today? What happened?

Nothing. We're all just on a workstation vacation because Janet is out for the day at a conference.

Island Vacation

When pedestrians cross to the middle of the road but then take a mental vacation, showing no signs or interest in crossing the rest of the way or any awareness of their surroundings, causing confusion for passing drivers/other pedestrians (could alternatively be, minor stroke - who would know?)

"What are you stopped for?"
"I was just gonna let this guy cross"
"Nah, not that guy, he's on an island vacation, he could be there a while"
