There is no term in existance. The two genres of music are mutually exclusive of each other. Metal revels in sex, drugs, violence and death. Emo on the other had cringes and cries in a corner at such ideas.
It's either Metal or Emo, not both.
You are thinking of PostHardcore, or just plain EMO, you fucking idiot!

Dude: Fuck I love SLAYER!
Emo: Umm...why do they have to sing about such evil things and like it? Why can't Emo "Metal"have some kick ass music like this but without the evil and violence? It makes me want to cry...(whines)
Dude: Because, pussy, there is no such thing! No one in their right mind would even think about that bullshit! Get the fuck out of my McDonalds...
(Kicks the shit out of the emo loser)

The best music of all fucking time. Beats the shit out of Nu metal, emo, pop, and other crap out there.
Tesla, Twisted Sister, Whitesnake, Vixen, Tigertailz, Motley crue, and Poison are great glam metal bands

The greatest genre of music ever! A lot of people have been giving this genre shit saying it's "not metal." Those losers are only judging a book by its cover and not listening to the music itself. Some kick ass guitarists who are heavily underrated for being part of the scene are: C.C DeVille, Vito Bratta, Richie Sambora, Tracii Guns, Joey Allen, Reb Beach, George Lynch, Nuno Bettencourt, Mick Mars, Oz Fox, Ronni Le Tekro, Vinnie Vincent, even Slash! I could go on forever. And there are some awesome vocalists like Sebastian Bach, Michael Matijevic, David Coverdale, Bret Michaels, etc.
On a side note: what the hell does everyone have against Poison? Just because they wore makeup, they are gay? Just because Bret Michaels is an amazing singer, he is effeminate? Just because they were mainstream with hits like "Nothin But a Good Time" (my favorite song), "Every Rose Has Its Thorn", "Talk Dirty to Me", "Unskinny Bop", etc, they are crap sellouts? People should just appreciate the music for the music itself. Value what a guitar legend C.C. DeVille was and still is. Maybe people are just jealous because they have never gotten laid before.
Furthermore, I think people are coming of as huge hypocrites when they say they hate glam metal but think Van Halen Guns N Roses and Def Leppard are metal gods.

Kiss, Aerosmith, and Alice Cooper are NOT glam metal.

if you look at it Death Metal is different depending on the band, take arch enemy for example Melodic death, real melody and there is a senxe of death metal Deep vocals, growls grunts and things of that nature, but take some thing like Necrophagist which is more technical death metal, then there is Severed Savior which is more brutal death metal metal, lots of kiling, slaying. slaughter, rape, murder the works, read the lyrics death metal isnt Jsut HARD fast SHIT, its about the lyrics, it could talk about politics to relgion to hate and love. death metal is defined by the way you see and hear it.
Arch Enemy, Morbid Angel, CC, Dark Tranquillity, Lord Gore. Engorged, Naplam Death, Goatwhore, Necrophagist, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Anal Cunt, Cock and Ball Tortue, Gorgasm, Severed Savior, Fear Factory, Vomitory, Vital Remains, Deicide !!!!!!!!!!! \,,/

Honestly.
I'm quite shocked.
So, let's get this defined.
Nu-metal.
A form of metal that uses influences from rap, hip-hop and various heavy-metal genres.
At first, it was quite a good genre, but now that it is popular, and therefore 'Mainstream', people have this idea that it is a brainwasher.
Yes, I will admit there are some bands I want to throttle, alot of them nu-metal, but I hafta get this off my chest.
The First Punching-bag of the "MAnStR34m 1S 4 l0zrs Lol!!!1!" Brigade;
Slipknot.
A Nu-metal band from Iowa, save for their bassist, who's from somewhere else.
I'm not a big fan, but their music's alright.
Korn.
A band from god-knows where, that I dont listen to them much.
I'm not that much of a fan, but I love the vocalist's mic-stand.
Limp Biz(s?)Cit.
I will admit I hate this band.
Look.
The point I'm trying to get across is this.
Give it a chance!
You might find something you like!
Because, if you go around claiming that all music from that genre sucks, you're no better than the people who resent metal entirely.

Me: Wow, this Slipknot's not bad, they got good sounds.
Friend: shmeh, I'm not into nu metal, but yeah, I'll go with the flow.
That was a good example, here's what not to do:
Me: Wow, this slipknot's pretty awesome.
Friend: What? But they're nu-metal! That's so mainstream!
Me: And?
'Friend': And nothing! Stop listening to that and put on (Generic band)!
Me:...
Friend: Even though I bitch about equal treatment, I still think everything form that genre must sound bad becau-, Hey, whatcha doing with that chainsa- YEEAAARRGGGHHHBEEGHG!
So, give a genre a chance, and shut up.
Jesus, whiny c*nts.

Battle metal is the name of two similar, but distinct forms of heavy metal music.
By one definition, battle metal is a fusion of melodic death metal and Power Metal. The guitar parts are reminiscent of Iron Maiden's harmonizing, rhythmically complex duets, which took on a new meaning with bands like Carcass, In Flames, Arch Enemy, At The Gates, and Dark Tranquillity. The vocals and song arrangements, on the other hand, are more akin to Stradivarius and Sonata Arctica.
By the other definition, battle metal is a subgenre of black metal, closely related to epic metal and drawing on themes of medieval or fantasy battle and fighting, and in the opinion of some would be suitable for the soundtrack for a Role Playing Game. Battle metal bands like Summoning were (falsely) rumored to be possible contributors to the soundtrack of the Lord of the Rings movies, but this was mainly because of the Tolkien-related content of their music, but they did not appear on the soundtrack.
The band Bolt Thrower is considered to be a pioneer in this genre, as their name comes directly from a gigantic crossbow-type weapon used in the popular tabletop strategy game Warhammer Fantasy Battles. The lyrics and artwork of their second and third albums were based on the Warhammer game, as well as its futuristic companion Warhammer 40,000, with much of the art even being provided by the game's publisher, Games Workshop. The general theme of their lyrics is war and its consequences.
Most bands who play battle metal also contribute to other sub-genres of black metal: for instance, Bathory are prominent in the Viking metal sub-genre, and Waylander are pioneers of three sub-genres of black metal: battle metal, folk metal and Celtic Metal. Other metal bands have produced individual songs that fit the battle metal genre - the power metal band Thy Majestie is an example.
The band Turisas is considered to be the band who gave the genre its name by mixing all the previously mentioned styles and much more into one on their album "Battle Metal" (2004), even though Bolt Thrower has been together and performing since the mid-1980s.
Not to be confused with Australian War Metal.

I love jamming some epic Battle Metal while we're pulling a Warhammer allnighter! Makes the game come alive!
