mosh pit

The area near the front of the stage at punk rock and metal concerts where fans will run into each other continously. This is also known as slamdancing. It is not uncommon for people to shove their friends into the pit. Normally, the pit isn't very dangerous, and most will follow the rules of a friendly pit. For example, if someone falls down in the pit, the other moshers are expected to pick them up and get them out of harms way.

There are also variatons on the mosh pit, including circle pits, and the wall of death.

If you go to a punk show, there's going to be a mosh pit there.

circle pit

Is something that forms in a punk, ska, or metal concert. The purpose of it is for the outterpeople to keep the formation and act as bouncers and the dancers to run in. There are many different styles of dances that go on; the two step, the running man, skanking. Also moshing and thrashing goes down. Usually people in the pit are very curtious, if you fall, someone will stop and pick you up. This style of dancing is def. great if you're at a underground punk show where people are more considerate, and women can participate without getting beat down.

Venezuelan Pit Stop

An adaptation of the famous Irish Pit Stop, this feat is not to be undertaken by the faint of heart.

After a heavy night of drinking, enter a shower with one other person and take a bottle of vodka. Proceed to share the bottle of vodka until the first person starts spewing. This will decide the roles. The losing party needs to abruptly escape the line of firing before they are fully covered in stomach juice, hold the shower door shut and witness the waterworks. As this is an indubitably sensual experience, the watcher will proceed to finger their own chocolate starfish until said finger is covered in faeces. In case the winner’s liquid exorcism is complete, the watcher will then carefully open the shower door, take the covered finger and shallowly insert it into the nose of the other person. This should trigger a final expulsion of the remaining contents. Switch roles if required.
