A sign placed near to wet paint to tell people that they must touch the wet paint just to make sure it isn't dry.
Sensible Person: "Oh look, a wet paint sign"
Everyone else: "I'll test to see if it's still wet" *touches the paint and gets it on finger*

Anti-Throckmorton Sign

A now discarded term in medicine, in which the direction of th flaccid penis on Xray points away from the area of injury. If the reverse were true, it was referred to as the Throckmorton Sign. In other words, a 50/50 useless distinction.
