west virginia

A rugged, poverty stricken state with a naturally beautiful landscape and a unique population. West Virginia's poor economic infrastructure stems from the lack of an urban white-collar economy and collapse of the coal industry. The largest city in the entire state is Charleston, which is home to a mere 185,000 residents. However, the lack of a powerful economy has prevented suburban mall districts and McMansion golf course homes from destroying rural areas (as is common in most southern states). The result of this commercial isolation, rural living, and blue-collared work force is a truly authentic group of people who can only be defined as Mountaineers (which is the team name of West Virginia University). These Mountaineers are characterized by a love of the outdoors, a fondness of reckless partying, thier nasal southern/midwestern hybrid accent, and their generally gregarious attitudes. West Virginians usually inhabit small towns of about 15,000-45,000 where people live in modest homes on large sects of land, which explains the passion for all things outdoors. And with the beautiful, mountainous landscape, it is a perfect place to be an outdoorsman (especially in fall/winter). However, a large problem with West Virginia is fraud from those collecting from the goverment by either women who have pawned their children off on their parents, or by former laborers who file false claims of injury to collect money and prescriptions. Couple that with the large amount of productive young people who migrate to cities such as Baltimore, Pittsburgh, NYC, and Philadelphia, and there are not many young people with college experience who stay in the state.

In short, West Virginia is a pretty place without a city worth mention. Most people who live here are very easy going and fun, but also relatively uneducated and poor.

The state slogan is "West Virginia: Wild, Wonderful", and if it were ignoring economy, this would be a perfect description. Which is the reason I had to leave for Pittsburgh.

West Roxbury

West Roxbury is a small town located in Boston. The town is often confused with Roxbury, a shady, somewhat dangerous town. Regardless, teens often think that they are gangsta simply because they are apart of the FV, Fruits and Vegetables gang. Most kids attend either Catholic Memorial High School, or Mount Alvernia, both private catholic schools. You do not need to be afraid to walk by yourself at night here, because the "gangsters" are really just preppy kids who try to make their life more interesting by acting tough.

Westie chick: I'm from WEST Roxbury.

Westie Chick: No that ROXBURY, im from WEST Roxbury

West Roxbury

The greatest place on Earth. The place home to the most legendary citizens in the world. The place which holds the most infamous fields and best spots. The place where people from all around the world come to just chill at the field and smoke a nice blunt. The place where only the finest are aloud to drink a cold brew. The place that doesn't take shit from anyone. The place that is much tougher than other places such as dedham and southie. The place which holds the notorious fields such as Billings and Hynes Field. The place which holds Beercan which is said to be a pathway Christopher Columbas took on his journey once he reached America. The place that is neighborly to Roslindale, an equal place to West Roxbury. Roslindale is home to the most known field around Fallon Field. West Roxbury is the place to be. So if anybody wants it West Roxbury and Roslindale will sure fuck your shit up.

Fred: You should of came to West Roxbury. There's shit popping there every night.

The infamous from West Roxbury were down at their field when the dedham kids rolled up. The dedham kids didn't leave their car and didn't do shit.

West Milford

West Milford, an 80+ square mile town in Passaic County,sitting in the "Heart of the Highlands."With mountainous terrain and nearly 40 lakes. This town, most commonly known for its bad reputation, is in fact the home of "Clinton Road".Also home of the Highlands known for "Heroin Hill", yes, Hewitt is referred to as that exactly.But this drug problem is because of the direct route to many cities. It's to be understood that if you grew up in this town, you are forever this town. People here have different personalities, Hick and Guido mix, I know, sounds ridiculous, and it is.. Graduates of WMHS are not all slutty druggy dumb asses but yes, majority are. They know how to have FUN and LOTS of it. But it's been very apparent to me that the families of West Milford are mostly hard working, honest people, many business owners.West Milford attracts Hikers and Bikers alike. Having the beautiful Appalachian Trail in Hewitt makes this town a great place to live for outdoorsy people!Although there are only 2 traffic lights in the town there is no need for anymore than that! Major state highway, Route 23, that winds along its southern boundary, more or less paralleling the Pequannock River, provides its main transportation links to the outside world*Despite its enormous size, West Milford is blessed with a small-town atmosphere and is overall a lovely place to live.The atmosphere is something different, something you may unknowingly become attached to, ask its 26,400 residents.
