carefully observing (with intent to obtain), while allowing an appropriate amount of time to pass - as to allow poached goods not to spoil or be taken/reclaimed, until all attention has fleeted from said goods so that one may stealthily obtain them. (Often times successful, rarely frowned upon)

A person who is present in a shared document and is just watching you edit the file with no little or no comments at all. The more agressive type will overwrite your edits as soon as you left them, or correct your typos before you can.
That's just creepy knowing you are watching me edit this doc online. You are an edit stalker!
