A vacation in which you do not travel anywhere at all. Basically just spend a few days in bed.

Soft vacationing

Doing the minimum requirements of one's job and putting in no more time, effort, or enthusiasm than absolutely necessary, but only for around two weeks because you've been working hard and you deserve it.

Brenda spent last month working overtime every day so for the next two weeks she's soft vacationing because she deserves it.

vacation fairy

Noun. The fairy that comes the night before a vacation while the kids are sleeping usually leaving toys and books and games for the kids to keep entertained and calm while traveling. It also is an incentive for excited children to go to sleep the night before.
When the excited kids go to sleep the vacation fairy will come and leave surprises to keep them entertained while traveling to their destination.

The night before they left for their vacation the children went to bed early in hopes that the vacation fairy would come and leave fun toys and surprises for the long ride.

Vacation

Something that everybody needs and deserves and not many get one exactly as they want. On a real vacation (and not just time off, see staycation), you get to travel, you can drink/smoke/get high as much as you want, you can spend however you want, eat whatever you want, sleep as much as you want, essentially you're free and you don't have to take shit from anybody. It's really, really nice to be granted with a vacation. If you ever get one, please, for the love of God, take advantage of it and fully appreciate it, because they are rare and they don't come often (for some never at all).

Holy shit I'm going to the beach for two weeks straight! Wow! A real vacation!

I cannot afford to take an entire week off, so my family and I are taking a poor man's vacation.
