Get the wunk mug.Wussy punk rock. A style of punk that blends pop melodies with humorous and often offensive lyrics.
• It's the epitome of the mainstream pop punk popularized by Blink-182. Many punk rock devotees criticize the music and lyrics as soft and non-confrontational (socially and politically), and thus unbefitting of the punk label, despite it's provacative nature.
• The term was coined by Nate Olson in the early 2000s to describe his band, Straight Outta Junior High. Local media adopted the term and helped popularize it's usage with the emergence of cyberculture.
