I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news

A phrase said before someone says something very unfortunate. If a guy says this to a lady or vice versa, they might be about to do an unexpected breakup because one of them did something that the other person REALLY didn't like, or it could be used in any situation where bad news just needs to be given. For example, it could also be said when a big and exciting event is about to end or just before a very life-changing event that might possibly ruin the other guy's life forever.
Guy 1: I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the year that you really liked and wanted to last forever, 2014, is coming to a close in a few days! So sorry dude, but every single old thing has to come to an end!

Guy 2: Really? But I hope 2015 will also be awesome!

In other news, the sky is blue

A great alternative to boring sentences like "thanks, Captain Obvious" or "no shit, Sherlock."
When someone says something so obvious that it should be more common knowledge than the color of the sky.
"holy shit guys i just realized that rage against the machine is advocating against capitalism"
"in other news, the sky is blue"

the 6 o'clock news

A very bad prank.

When someone's asleep, you pull down their pants, stick a newspaper in their ass, and light the newspaper on fire.
Man... my ass still hurts from the 6 o'clock news...

The Newsted

A haircut that is shaved underneath, and long on top, like bassist Jason Newsted's during his early Metallica years. It became re-popularized in the early-to-mid 2000-teens. Hipsters and worship pastors love it.
Dude #1: I just got a new haircut

Dude #2: What kind?

Dude #1: The Newsted

Dude #2: Awesome!

raping the newsfeed

When two or more people decide to ignore personal messages and Facebook chat and have a conversation only through wall posts. These wall posts come up in the news feed and annoy other Facebook users. There are differing degrees, but 'raping the newsfeed' is an extreme case.
I really wish Suzy and Bobby would stop raping the newsfeed!
