1) Harambe was rather enraged at the presence of a human in his habitat, and his irritability made it less likely that tranquilizers would have worked
2) Those who complain about 2016, yet contributed to the rise of Harambe on the internet have only themselves to blame

A 400 lb (200 kb), 17-year-old Western lowland gorilla, born May 27, 1999, and died May 28, 2016. He got shot since he was accused for trying to kill a 3-year-old at the Cincinnati Zoo. Now, Harambe's in the pop culture of memes.

Harambe was majestic. King of the gorillas. Some retarded mom wasen’t watching her kid. And her child wanted to give harambe a hug. So of course, the only normal thing to do would be to cimb into his enclosure. Harambe was used to fighting people who tried to mess with his brothers. So he beat the crap out of the kid. Sadly, they put him down soon after. R.I.P. Harambe. You will be loved, missed, and remembered. Never forget.
Harambe was a majestic man.
