Boy or girl usually 13 to 20 who exhibits some of the following traits:
1. Wears tight jeans, random shirts, multicolored converse or checkered shoes without laces, hoodies with zippers that are too small, vests,or any other random article of clothing which they think will make people think they are original
2. Usually kids who dont think they fit into what they call the mainstream although they may focus on certain scenes like emo, punk, pop, ska etc.genres of music
3. Usually liberal or openminded which probably made them scene in the first place
4. Usually likes, japanese things, unheard of bands, anime, dinosaurs, 80's things, multi-colored things, but most of all random things!
5. Scenesters are usually those kids who you can group together but can never really figure out what they have in common
The group I just defined is only an observation of what I have seen and heard and may differ as to what you may observe in real life. However scenesters can be grouped together and the sterotype that surrounds them may be made fun of.

A person you can typically find on myspace, having over 1000 friends (95% of who they don't know), have a fancy HTML layout and have all kinds of weird angled pictures. They also tend to wear bandannas, tight jeans, small shirts that don't fit them (usually band T's), band hoodies, and obscene makeup. Most of these individuals want to feel "cool" and want to fit into the latest scene. The men scenesters seem to be a little too friendly and seem to embrace the gay culture, but still calling themselves straight. There also seems to be the handfull of the overweight scenesters that need to just die. You don't look good. =/

"Scenester" is often reffered to as a person who tries to follow the emotionally hardcore scene without actually being emotionally hardcore.
the scenester "theme" is about looking the part of a certain group, but not focusing on the main part of it.They are often looked down upon by the "emo" community, often seen as "posers."
While some scenesters call themselves emo, other scenesters pride themselve in not taking part in some of the "emolike" activities.
such as cutting, and writing poetry.
Scenester is mostly about fashion.
Most scenester clothing is found at hot topic
But other scenesters will buy normal chlothing and modify it by sewing or pinning.
While the fashion part plays a big role, there is also a sort of attitude and habits that will grow on it's own when being around scenesters for a while.
You may start complaining about people who try and be scenester only when they go to concerts.
note:alot of senesters i have been introduced to hate it when people try and capture the scenester look,only to go to concerts.
and also alot of things associated with scenesters are often reffered to as being "so myspace"
small, colorful dinosaurs

ninjas
and overused phrases
scenesters will often stick to screamo, or hardcore music and make fun or plug their ears when they hear rap music.
guys will usually wear girls clothing that contains things that are dorky or "cute"
although with the scenester trend on the rise, companies will make guys clothing that are girlish.
and pretty much every scenester guy has like ten+ bracelets
girls will wear ultra skinny jeans, and "cute" tops often associated with a cartoon or an animal.
and what is a scenester girl without a shoulder bag??
(no purse)
whhile emotionally hadcore isn't the only thing you can aspire to to be scenester, it is the most used trend among scenesters.

A person, usually part of a group, or a person who - more importantly - WANTS to be part of a group who defines there inner character by their outer appearence. Subsequently creating a paradox and consequent void in their personality.
Most scenesters model themselves on a certain stereotypical person from a certain window in popular culture for example 'Mods', 'Punks', 'Hardcore', 'Beatniks', 'New Ravers' etc. Most scenesters base themselves on band members from their selected type of music. Despite 'Indie Rockers' being the classical 'scenester' in Britain 'Mods' seem to be taking over.
The true problem of scenster behaviour is that it is throughly based in the superficial. Scenesters only hang around with equally scene people and rate ,compliment and base their friendships on how good (or mostly ridiculous) each other look. The weirder and more original the better. 'Original' here however refers to something you have seen on another and copied whilst avoiding others discovering what idea you stole.
A few popular 'Original' looks include:
* Blunt Fringes
* American Apparel Clothing
* Red lipstick on Women
* Skinny Jeans on Men
* Vintage Clothing worn simultaneously resulting in Time Warp appearence
* Woody Allen glasses
* Berets
* Charity shopping items
* Being Heroin Chic skinny
Some non Mod scensterisms
* Shiny Leggings
* Florescent T-shirts from the 80's
* Androgyny
* Fake Bling
* As many clashing patterns and colours as you can get away with.
Personally my favourite aspect of the scenester is the vocabulary which tends to be stunted and abbreviated beyond apprehension. A smart scenester will make their own code words so that they can be totally 'original'
Popular scenesterisms include
*The sex
*Rad
*Delish
*Beaut
*Uber ( + anything i.e. Ubercool, Uberhot, Uberfun )
* Le (the french word) before an English Noun.
* J'adore (again stolen from the french)
*

Get over yourselves you cunts, no one cares about how you dress or what music you like. You're as much a scenester as anyone.

The scenester is a male, female, or an "it" usually falling between the ages of 16-21. At the core of their lifestyle is their apparent love for music, usually of an obscure genre. Their clothing and attitude reflects their taste in music. Scenesters usually migrate in groups, most of them are the same person, and therefore look very similar. The typical scenester wears a t-shirt usually from Hot Topic (although the more "conformist" scenesters go to Stitches) and a pair of tight jeans. Their accessories include awkward headwear, oversized aviators, plastic jewelry, and the scenester can often be seen with a cigarette at hand. Scenesters, as the name suggests, are the first to hop onto a bandwagon - whether it's longboarding or the new drug. Scenesters found on the internet have usernames typically consisting of two words seperated by an "x." Members of this species usually travel in mid-90's sedans in large numbers. Scenesters are often mistaken for their more common, upbeat cousin - the hipster.
Gatekeeper: "Are you guys here to see the drifters?"
Scenester: "Sure are." (Takes short drag on cigarette.)
Scenester 1: "Goin' to the Rise Against concert?"
Scenester 2: "Fuck you!"
Scenester 3: "Fuck!"

a rather interesting person. contrary to very popular belief, they don't all just follow trends. the only trend these people follow is a love of music, which often bands them together. some of them are sxe, (straight edge) which means no sex, drugs, or drinking. but not all of them are. a lot of the girl wear brightly colored eyeshadows, maticulosly put onwith the greatest of care. many also wear brightly colored clothes, tight jeans, and flats. big round beaded necklaces or bracelets may be included also. the girls usually have razored hair, and it may or may not be dyed.
the guys usually wear tight pants, and/or tight shirts with a large belt buckle sometimes with guns or the like on it. they also usually wear some type of skate shoe or converses.they usually also have very nice hair, and you can tell they spent some time on it. that does not mean they are gay. it means they care about their apperance.
