I read in the 'news' today that scientists are all involved in an elaborate left wing conspiracy on the climate change hoax. I've been using it as evidence to shoot down woke inner city latte sipping lefties on social media who are complaining about their towns being covered in smoke and ravaged by bushfires in Australia.

New is a synthetic material and it was originally developed as a rubber replacement. But it is nowadays used everywhere from igloos to spandex pants and it has mostly replaced old. The first new factories were located in Jersey. Later there were so much new production there that people called it humorously New Jersey. Nowadays there is a movement lead by Ashton Kutcher against using new because large corporations are accused of using child labour in the production of new. If you have a lot of otherwise useless old you can polish it with new.
New is manufactured and sold all over the world, but it can sometimes be rather expensive. In that case old can be a good substitute of new. If you are really handy you can make new yourself.

A somewhat derogatory name for the cities of Houston, TX and Baton Rouge, LA due to the mass influx of displaced New Orleans residents after the Hurricane Katrina disaster. The name alludes to the burden these evacuee communities have placed on the infrastructure of said cities. Many use the term to comment on the increased crime and welfare rates in Baton Rouge and Houston.
A friend of mine lives in Baton Rouge. He's hating it in New New Orleans.
