One who fucks his or her own mother. However, in recent times, it has adapted to:

1.) One who fucks any mother (which means your father/mother's girlfriend is a motherfucker).

2.) An adaptable insult for anyone whom you'd like to offend.

1.) "Johnny, you're such an incestuous pig, you motherfucker!"

2.) "Your father is such a motherfucker."

3.) "Billy, you haven't showered AGAIN, you motherfucker?!"

Can also mean a musician of great skill. Often coupled with "bad" as in "bad motherfucker". Can be an extreme compliment in certain circumstances.

Man, Prince is a motherfucker on that (guitar/bass/keyboard/piano/drumkit)

Motherfucker

This term was originally used during slavery or by slaves. The salve master would come to the slave "house" and take liberties with the female slaves. Though the term was not usually said to the "masters" face, if it was said that the motherfucker was coming it was known what was meant.

(The term applied to slave masters or anyone that had authority over the slaves. Slave Masters, Their Sons and overseers).

Here comes the motherfucker again. The motherfucker came last night.
