Irregardless

Ain't ain't a word and I ain't gonna say it. People told me this in kindergarden. Well, it is in the dictionary, and I'm known as the 'walking dictionary' even by college students, and I use the word ain't in everyday conversation. a person's intellect can only be judged by word usage, And I've started this rant because it truly gets under my skin to know that someone would say, 'Irregardless of what u think this is not a word.' or 'Irregardless of your opinion, the facts show that you are so wrong, Dude.' Um, if it is not a word, why did you use it to discredit it?

Sence this is supposed to be a deffinition, here goes.
Irregardless litterally means not to take into account; consider without.

Irregardless is used as regardless, but is cactually meaning to regard. So if you say 'irregardless of the fact, he is a jerk.' you're meaning 'regarding the fact, he is a jerk.' Which actually sounds better, in my opinion with the 'ir' and 'less' though, it is a mouthful.

'Irregardless the house is messy.'
'Regarding the house is messy.'
So please use 'Disregard the house, it is messy.'

Adv. This words has derived from the English word "regardless", meaning anyway or despite prevailing circumstances. Largely used by FOBs( Fresh Off the Boats), and Miami Floridians who attempt to combine the Spanish word for "and" and regardless.

Portmanteau of "irrespective" and "regardless", likely used mistakenly rather than deliberately. While technically this could be a meaningful term directly, due to the double negative of ir- and -less this would make this mean the opposite of the terms that form it, which is never the intent when used.

Irregardless

Irregardless: regardless that people rail against irregardless as being a non word, it has by the shear volume of people railing against it become a word regardless. And if it doesn't exist why are so many people paying attention to it spending their precious time on something that doesn't exist. Seems strange to me though that over the course of the computer age (still going) thousands of words that did not exist before have been added to the dictionary as being words. And as well the thousands of made up words that didn't exist before some movie or TV show are now in our vocabulary. Regardless of what anyone thinks, irregardless now exists as a word. Noting too that even spell check as I type this doesn't recognize irregardless as being misspelled.

Irregardless of what you think irregardless has become a word.
