Probably if there was ever one, an generic anime. It can be called a newb anime, beacause it was one of the first animes to be introduced to America. With that said the people new to anime thought it was cool, and didn't know that there are much better animes out there. The anime is filled with countless fillers that hinder the actual developement of anything interesting. The plot is dismal, and revolves around searching for jewel shards and figthing only one main villian, so naturally you would think fighting only one villian that the anime would be medium length, HELL NO! The anime goes on for ages getting no where! I have yet to see an episode where they actually have a good drawn out fight scene, it just sickens me that people think this is good anime. Only thing worse about this anime are the RIFs(rapid inuyasha fans) Who spout random nonsense about inuyasha being the best anime in the world, a good example of the RIFs are all the people who gave a thumbs down on good definitions of their bad anime.

a show about a preppy japanese school girl who dreams(yes dreams, she wakes up in the end on the last ep) that she goes back in time to a fairy tale land with monsters and imaginary friends and rainbows and kitty cat demons and stupid shit like that and in every episode gets captured by some stupid monster and inuyasha saves her bitch ass for like the 3000 time.

A pretty good anime show. It follows the adventures of a Japanese high school girl , Kagome, who can travel between present day and Feudal Japan through an ancient well. The humans of the Feudal Era are terrorized by demons, some look very human while others are monsterous in appearance and size. Kagome meets a half demon, Inuyasha, and together with other friends they must collect the shards of a powerful crystal before evil demons use them to wreck havoc.
The overall plot is good and well thought out from what I've seen. The series tends to go at too slow a pace. Many episodes serve no point for the plot or for character developement. It tends to drag on and each episode follows the same basic path. The group comes across some village, person, or group which needs saving, they agree to help, Kagome (sometimes another girl) gets captured or trapped by some demon, Inuyasha saves her. There are some really great episodes that don't follow this format, but are lost in the sea of dozens of filler episodes. The series as a whole is well written and worth watching, but it may take 20 episodes to move the plot past one trivial subject and the main storyline forward.
Overall, it's worthwhile to watch, but the individual, unoriginal, storylines ruin the overall storyline of the series.
