A term that has lost its real meaning over the years. It means to be fearful of homosexuality or homosexuals. But many have turned the meaning to mean that someone is hateful of homosexuals. This is not the correct definition of homophobic, rather it is to just be fearful of homosexuality and/or homosexuals.
Homophobe is a name given to those that are fearful of homosexuals.
You can be from any religion, race, gender, etc. and be a homophobe. It is not just Christianity or Atheism or Islam.

A person(usually an old person) who is afraid of the thought of homosexuals(aka the fashionistas). Homophobic people don't make many friends(cause all the good ones are gay). People don't say it out loud, but someone who accepts homosexuals is always hating homophobics on the inside. Homophobes are usually gay guys who are still in the closet. When they call other people gay, those people want to call them out for being gay.

Homophobic- A fear of gay people. Usually homophobic people will run and scream immediately if they see a rainbow. If you are gay and are trying to approach a homophobe. Be sure to approach slowly and make sure to have a treat that is exclusively black and white. If they seem aggresive, poke them with a stick. Then they will fall over onto the ground motionless. Oh yeah, forgot to mention they have a paralyzing fear of gay people.
It is actually quite rare to spot a homophobic person. Facebook and Twitter is usually where they are found as it is their natural habitat. So, if you ever see one outside, they are probably just going to get a new box of tissues.

Homophobic means to "fear gays". Although most people do not cower in the corner when they see a gay, like they would do when they see a spider. Most people do not faint when they see a gay, like they do when they see blood. For this reason, it's definition should be changed to "Hatred of Gays" or "Dislikement of Gays".
