What feminism used to be
A fight for equal rights between men and women. Such as the rights to vote and own land. It was a good cause.
What feminism is now
Still a good cause, most women have gotten basic human rights, but we still fight for the ones who don't. There are also many other things such as d/m/stic v/olence (o, m, i) and r/pe (a) that are still very large problems that need to be solved. Intersectionality is also something that needs to be studied more in depth. I am in no way saying that men do not have these problems too, I am just saying it is more common that women have these problems. You can be a feminist man.

Feminism is a rad cause that anyone can support. It also includes trans women and non binary people.

Get the Feminism mug.Feministsare dangerously often confused with feminazis. A feminazi is a man-hating extremist who believes women to be better than men and are basically just reverse sexists. A feminist is someone who fights for equal rights between men and women, since women are still being opressed all over the world in many, many different ways. An example of this opression is the pay gap, which many wrongly believe to be a myth, despite it being very easy to find plenty of evidence with just a quick and simple google search. Feminism tries to fight this opression through protests and campaigns like #freethenipple or #freewomen.

Get the Feminism mug.Part of the fifth wave of feminism, interstellar feminism wants to give attention to gender inequality in outer space. It's 2058, Earth has finally reached full gender equality but female martians still earn on average 70% of what male martians make. Znorbos and Plorbos, the majority genders from planet Dorbos, still don't recognize the minority gender Fhorbos' right to wear whatever they want. And the Grimeselons from planet X Æ A-12 (named after the young space explorer X Æ A-12 Musk, R.I.P.) sadly keep on spacecat-calling their female counterparts.
Earthling 1: "I heard they're still not hiring pregnant Flotroxinas in the Andromeda Galaxy!"
Earthling 2: "This is why we need interstellar feminism!"

Get the Interstellar feminism mug.A feel-good ideology that without any evidence asserts that men and women are equal and anybody who disagrees with it are automatically sexists. Exactly like religion, that without any evidence asserts god exists and anybody who disagrees with it are automatically demonic.

Get the Feminism mug.How feminists define themselves: "literally just treat us like humans, literally equality, equal opportunities, that’s literally all we want"
Subtle change as millennials and Gen Z took over: "equity" is now the word, not equality. Meaning equal outcomes. Analogy of starting a race from different positions and different body types and why some people need a head start / boost to get to the finish line at the same time.
How modern feminism should be defined based on its actions: the accepted mainstream politically correct movement that strives towards female-dominant outcomes in all desirable arenas.
If women are inherently better at just about everything (which many believe to be the case), naturally they should dominate. If they don’t, it’s because they are being discriminated against. So if something is female-dominated, we don’t then try to balance by bringing in more men. No, we celebrate, and push for more. The job is never done.

There are more men majoring in STEM than women. THIS is why we need feminism. Women outnumber men in this university 2 to 1 so we've made good progress, but it is not enough. We still aren't even treated as humans. We have to work 10 times as hard for 1/10th the pay. It is NOT okay.
