Fair Weather Ownership

When credit is claimed when things go well, but blame is assigned elsewhere when things don't.

One of my team members believes in Fair Weather Ownership. People were happy when he made a big song and dance about the dashboard he just built. When somebody pointed out a minor glitch his response was "it's not my code. it's Firefox that's making it error like that".

Fairgirl

A Fairgirl is the kind of girl who is sweetly hypocritical. She says one thing, but is really doing the other, in the most adorable way possible. A Fairgirl is selfish, and blind to her hypocrisy, especially in relationships.

Girl: "I hate it when guys are just looking at my boobs when they're talking to me. So rude."
Guy: "I get that, but in all fairness you also never wear a bra right?"
Girl: "Yeah, but no one really notices"
Guy: "Do you think guys notice when they're talking to you?"
Girl: "I mean, haha, probably sometimes!"

Fair Bite of the Beef

An Australian expression of mateship, celebration and affirmation. Typically used at social functions and barbecues, or to build rapport with strangers on public transport. Not to be confused with the phrase 'fair lunch of the lamb' - a much-scorned English phrase.

Also commonly used to express appreciation for someone who's overcome great adversity.

Phil was feeling out of place at a barbecue where everyone should feel welcome. He exclaimed 'fair bite of the beef' - to the delight of all present. The room erupted and was soon regarded as the number 1 larrikin and a general lush of a man. Many beers and salutations were offered.
