california state of mind

A play on the phrase "new york state of mind"; the act of thinking, acting, and possessing the traits of a true californian. Such characteristics include frequenting the beach, using slang known only to true californians, eating beach cuisine like acai bowls, or operating a vehicle like a california driver. Most people with the california state of mind are not afraid to set trends or act differently than non-californians because they know deep down the californian way is always right (excluding the economy). Having a California State of mind is closely tied with being under the influence of californication, and can be seen in one's laid back, dgaf-like personality.

That dude totally has the california state of mind; he listens to trendy indie music in the car while eating a california burrito, talking on the phone, and going 85 mph on his way to ocean beach.

kent state

College in northeastern Ohio that is overrun by cute, but annoying, black squirrels imported from Canada by a janitor over 30 years ago. Mascot is an eagle/lightning bolt.

I was once attacked by a black squirrel at Kent State.

Ball State

A large mediocre university in Muncie, Indiana known for several things including:
-A world class telecommunications program.
-A top twenty architecture program.
-Really cute hoosier co-eds.
-Incredible street parties.
-Occasional men's basketball prowess.
-The alma mater of David Letterman.
-A student body who has a really good time despite being located in one of the most depressing declining cities (see funcie) in the midwest.
-In the same athletic conference as Kent State

Man, I feel like spending 4-5 years of my late teens and early twenties having a good time; I think I'll apply to Ball State.

Wright State University

A medium sized college located in southwest Ohio that serves mainly commuters. WSU is known for its lame parties,decent dorm rooms, excellent engineering program , and its hot girls. Many kids there wear Wright State t-shirts in order to remind themselves what school they go too.

I park out in lot 20 because I love walking 20 miles to get to my car!
I came to Wright State University because my parents made me!
I'm transferring to 0SU in 2 years.

State of Origin

The Rugby League State of Origin is a yearly "best out of three" series of Aussie interstate rugby league matches between the Canetoads and the Cockroaches.

The State of Origin series is one of Australia's most look foward to sporting events. All eyes are glued to the televisions as the shops and neighbours alike adorn their houses with their teams colours.

State of Origin has the reputation of being one of the toughest, hardest-fought rugby league matches played anywhere in the world.

The Canetoads are going to kick the Cockroaches to kingdom come in this year's State of Origin.
