9/10 of the time I DON'T Laugh Out Loud; LOL,

but I want my text to convey to them that i thought what they
did or sound was funny and made me smile or laugh on the inside...It's like they get a B+ on the funny scale instead of an A+

To dawdle over a beverage (usually at a restaurant), talking, for an inordinate period of time, sometimes getting refills. Can be extended logically to mean taking a long time to finish anything that would be expected to take a much shorter length of time. Originally used by a friend of Lothie's to explain why a short meal turned into hours when Lothie was present, usually because she was still lingering over her coffee.

basically conveys that what your correspondent said was funny but honestly, if you always laughed out loud when you said "lol" you would draw some rather strange looks
