When you have been in a high position so long (usually a senator in DC) that you forget what it's like to be a common citizen, and think you're better than those "peasants." Forgetting you once were one.

Senator John Jones just passed a law that harms farmers even though he was one!

It's the DC effect, do not re-elect him.

sorry to hear about your angst, galen. i can honestly say i know the feeling like the back of my hand. altho, "rare" to see someone to disagrees with the war? can't really see that one, but DC's one of those "special" places. protests got old back in november or so. :o)
