nerdscure

"Nerdscure" is a combination of the terms nerd and obscure. It is used when talking about something relatively obscure to the casual nerd or perhaps even a top tier nerd (in other words depending on what level of nerd one is or one is talking with). If some decently factual objective nerd material is presented and it comes from a flexing of ones nerd cache muscle and it is met with a puzzled expression on the other persons face (that you are talking with)... than that is quite possibly nerdscure. Either that or it is just very casual level nerd material and you all are just not nerd enough. In which case you need to go see your local nerd-shaman and follow the advice to get you back on track.

Oh ok wow tht FM Towns Marty was exclusively for the jap market. Very interesting nerdscure material. Well nerdscure for me i guess. I lost interest in video gaming after 1990.

nerdsploitation

noun

1. when an aspect of a game, show, film, or other media is clearly meant to be fulfillment of a nerd fantasy. Compare to blacksploitation, as this often involves nerds doing ridiculously awesome things, i.e., Peter Parker.
Examples:
-Edward Cullen’s attraction to Bella Swan
-The character Fela in the Kingkiller Chronicles
-The vast majority of female comic book characters
-The vast majority of male comic book characters (however, different kind of fantasy)
-Zooey Deschanel doing anything whatsoever

I wish nerd movies focused more on feeling both real and being entertaining than taking the cheap shot with mindless nerdsploitation.

nerd spurs

A condition whereby a person keeps a large number of keys in their pocket that jingle loudly when they walk making the same sound as cowboy spurs. Also works for janitors or people that wear keyrings attached to their belts.

You could always tell the IT manager was coming from the sound of his nerd spurs.

Being out nerded by any other nerd of a higher caliber. Very popular with computer programmers discussing their first computers and who's game is cooler, magic the gathering or dungeons and dragons.

Nerd Mullet

A tech savy, high scoring, gaming individual who sports the classic Mullet style hairdo ie: Business in the front, Party in the back. But in this case: Geek in the front, Gamer in the back.

Tweedle Dee: Dude! You got your ass handed to you by that geek last night in World of Warcraft!
Tweedle Dum: Yeah, I should have been more careful man. I saw he was sporting the Nerd Mullet!
