“To die to” someone or something is a typical way to say someone or something killed you.

Usually used in the context of a video game.
It combines “to lose to” and “to be killed by”

Ugh I died to fall damage!

When a person online gets banned and no one bothered to repost or make any effort to preserve their videos or posts. Therefore they cease to exist.

I wish MontyAnimations was still around but they were never famous and I can’t find their videos anymore. I guess they died in their sleep.
