The term "lily girl" is meant to refer the lesbians, usually young ones. The term gained popularity majorly in Japan during the 70's and 80's since the lily flower started being associated with lesbianism due to a 70's japanese magazine, callings lesbians "the lily tribe". In the early 2000's when anime and Japanese culture became more mainstream the term started being used in other countries too, but to this day, it is still majorly used in Japan.
