A phrase that can be used to defer blame for telling a joke that is lame and/or unfunny. The blame is then shifted upon Jacob. The call must be said within 5 seconds much like the 3 second rule.
One of the better Nickelodeon shows. It focuses on the life of Ginger Foutley and her friends as she records them in her diary. The animation and dialogue was entertaining and funny, so Nick doesn't show it anymore. Some of the reasons it was successful and lasted more than a season was its in-depth character development and lack of stupidity like the current TEENick shows made by that idiot Dan Schneider (aka The Main Reason Nick Is Ruined).
Person: Hey, look! As Told By Ginger is going to be on this Monday!
Much like the popular phrase "that's what she said", "that's what I told my first wife" can apply to male only references. The first known use was by Michael Thor Lengies Sept. 2012.
Perfect set ups:
"It's doesn't get any harder than this." "That's what I told my first wife."
Sarcastic:
"I always wear condoms." "That's what I told my first wife."
Out of no where:
"I've got a date at 9:00." "That's what I told my first wife."
Self degrading humor:
"I'm just not a one woman man." "Yeah, that's what I told my first wife."
Guy 1: *singing* Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me
Guy 2: Dude, why are you singing the bad version?
Guy 1: What is the good version then? Sing it for me.
