Hubs

Hubs is a modification on the slang term "husband" in reference to one's male spouse. Often used as a term of endearment, hubs is now a commonplace term especially in American cultural tradition. Pati (pronounced pah-thee) is the traditional term for husband in India, but now that the language is becoming americanized by the cross cultural mixture of Indian-Americans in the U.S., Hubu is coming more into use as well as Hubs.

humus belt

A city, town or community primarily occupied by androgynous ex-hippies, vegans, activists of all types -- animal, anti-war, anti-bush, anti-nukes, etc. with a known affinity for hummus and other natural foods -- granola, hemp, etc.

Wearing my Bush '04 t-shirt with cigarettes rolled up in the sleeve and Big Mac sauce dripping down my face, I entered the humus belt with trepidation oniy the find the residents were oblvious to my presence. Their attention was focused on a group of folk singers in the town square.

Derived from the word husband; typically used when the wife is describing something about her man; instead of using the word husband she prefers to use Hubster because for him it's more manly than using Hubby

Lowell Hubbs

A Lowell Hubbs or a Hubbsian move occur when someone is deceptive and abusive and crazy - all at the same time. It can also refer to a Gish Gallop where the person in question simply produces a large amount of links or copy/pasted text and presumes to have answered your question.

Person 1: You sick-twisted moron. You haven't answered my seven questions.

Person 2: Please stop pulling a Lowell Hubbs and just talk.
