Get the Gornam mug.A Classical Greek philosopher that focused on Ontology, Epistemology, and Logic. He is known to have been somewhat of an existential nihilist. Obviously, like most Greek philosophers and sophists, he is overshadowed by the likes of the Socratic trinity of Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle and the incredible mathematicians like Pythagoras and Archimedes.
However, the purpose of defining him as opposed to other lesser Greek philosophers is almost completely unrelated to philosophy. That is his age. He lived from circa 485 B.C.E. to 380 B.C.E.! This fucking guy (pardon my profanity) lived to ~105 years of age, back in a time when life expectancy was obviously low. Blame it on the Mediterranean diet or the requirement for everyone to be physically active to some degree back in ancient times, but either way the Greek philosophers sure knew how to live. It is also very likely that he was active mentally in his 80's and 90's. Of course, it is one man of millions at the time, but still it incites some reason to think that nearly all humans are doing something wrong in the modern age.

Ex. 1: If they don't already, advocates for the Mediterranean diet should cite Gorgias as an example of a bright individual who apparently lead a long, healthy life.
Ex. 2: Gorgias and many other lesser known Classical Greek philosophers and sophists are severely underrated, even in the field of philosophical study from my experience (which is sad because philosophy itself is pretty underrated in most societies already).
